In comic #102, it's told that the physical structure of faeries can be likened to "a bisected kiwi fruit".
Aley says in comic #270 that his/her body may be made out of plasma. S/he states that again in comic #455:
-Hey, you're ruffling my plasma!

Fairies also have a fairy fuzz layer as outer layer of their bodies, altough its usage is unknown.
They can be several different colors.
